Description

The Airrex heater range is an outstandingly unique proposition for warming your workspace: possessing several valuable benefits via the advanced and novel technology and techniques that the heaters use. For example, the manufacturers emphasise the Airrex range’s low fuel consumption and, thus, low energy cost (see below). However, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Clean Combustion

The Airrex range, for instance, boasts complete combustion: a process that produces no carbon monoxide OR burning odours. This means that these heaters can be used in more spaces than other competing heaters that require better ventilation. The bonus of this is that the heater does not need a flue or exhaust system and, therefore, can be positioned and moved into different spaces.

No Fans

In addition to clean combustion, the Airrex range does not utilise any fan systems to diffuse heat. Instead, the heater relies on radiating infrared heat. There are three clear benefits of this method of heating:

  1. Dust, debris or other air pollutants or allergens already in the workspace will be left undisturbed;
  2. The heater is quieter than many other models (48dB);
  3. Heat is transmitted more effectively into the workspace and any objects in it. This means heat is stored and held for longer, resulting in an environment that cools slower. Therefore, the heater needs to run less continuously, saving energy.

Fancy Thermostat

Airrex heaters boast a huge thermostat range (0-40°C). Moreover, the thermostat can be controlled via remote control or a phone app. Saving your legs, the heater can be connected via Wifi or 4G, meaning you can alter the temperature, choose a mode or set a timer for your heater to start or stop whether you’re 1 foot, 1 yard or 1 mile away.

Want the workshop to be toastying up by the time you arrive? Use your phone to have the Airrex start when you’re nearby.

No installation required

Airrex heaters do not require installation. Instead, simply plug your Airrex in and position it where you need to, on its castor wheels.

Fuel Versatility

All of the Airrex range runs on Diesel, including Bio and Red.

Which Airrex should I get, the 200i, 300i or 800i?

There are three types of Airrex heaters: the 200i, 300i and 800i. And, being similar types of heaters, they boast many similarities. All of them can use bio, renewable, standard and red diesel. All of them use infrared to heat the environment, without fans. All of them boast the same digital interfaces and thermostats. Therefore, the primary difference is their size and, thus, the internal heating components. The 200i is the smallest, the 300i is slightly bigger and the 800i is, again, quite a bit larger than the other two. If dimensions are a concern, then naturally the heater that fits is the best choice. However, with the size increases there tends to be performance increases too.

AH200i

The 200i is the smallest heater of the three. The result is a heater that not only houses smaller parts but a reduced surface area from which the heat can be radiated. The primary advantage of the 200i over its siblings, therefore, is its smaller fuel consumption and compact size. We would recommend this size of Airrex heater for smaller workspaces like garages and leisure homes.

AH300i

The 300i is slightly bigger and slightly more powerful than the 200i. The result is the production of more heat energy and an increased surface area from which to project that heat into your workspace. However, the main advantage the 300i has over the other two is the size of its fuel tank and fuel consumption. The 300i has a tank nearly double the size of the 200i and consumption that is only slightly larger. The result is a continuous running time that approximately ranges from 42.9 hours to 36.3 hours. The 200i is 26.3 - 21.9 hours and the 800i, despite its substantially larger fuel tank, is 40.9 - 36.8 hours. We would recommend this size of Airrex for similar spaces to the 200i, but on a larger scale, including smaller workshops. We use one in the Idropower office.

AH800i

The 800i is the largest and most powerful of the three Airrex Heaters. The result is a heater that can warm spaces faster and larger. With a heat output of 22KW (7-9 KW greater than the 300i and 200i), the size of the heater also means the surface area from which the heat is passed into the atmosphere is greater. We recommend the AH800 for larger spaces such as large workshops, warehouses and events tents.

Which one, then!?

Essentially, the decision will boil down to the size of the space you want to heat up and in what way. For example, if you have a large space, up to 2000 m³ and want to heat the whole of it and not a specific part, the 800i would likely be the best solution. Conversely, a 200i or 300i could be ample if you cannot hope to heat the whole space. Say the workshop doors are open or the insulation is poor. Therefore, spot heating with a smaller heater could be better.

Conversely, if the space you are heating is smaller, then a large heater could take up too much space and be less efficient. A smaller workshop, events tent or garage, for instance, could be better served by an AH200i or AH300i.

Is Airrex the best choice?

The Airrex is an outstanding heater, we love them at Idropower. Quiet, efficient and versatile, we use a 300i in our office. However, they’re not the best option for all circumstances. Therefore, we recommend you get in touch with us to have a chat about the space you want to keep warm. For example, we do other ranges such as Master and Wilms, who create other forms of heaters, such as direct or indirect. These could be better alternatives.
